What a fantastic place - Buatta instantly became one of my favourite spots in Naples. It’s a truly authentic Neapolitan trattoria, cosy and full of that old school charm that makes you feel at home. I had the baccalà with papacelle (salt cod with pickled peppers), an old Neapolitan recipe that genuinely reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking comforting, simple, and full of tradition. I also tried the braciola al ragù, and it was simply fabulous rich, tender, and cooked exactly the way it should be. A special mention goes to the owner, Angela Gargiulo - a charming, sensational woman. The restaurant is truly her kingdom. She treats her customers the way a wise Neapolitan mother treats hungry children: with warmth, care, and a genuine desire to feed your soul as much as your stomach. The staff who served me was a nice, polite woman. Calm, attentive and caring. By the way, all staff is female. No gender balance here, fortunately I must say Buatta feels like another world - a place where time slows down. You never feel rushed or pushed to leave your table. The staff give you space, respect, and that rare feeling of being truly valued. Perfect for a relaxed, authentic dinner in Naples, everything felt genuine and heartfelt. Highly recommended if you want real Neapolitan flavours made with love.

I had looked into this restaurant while we were in Naples and loved the idea it is run by the same women who work the kitchen. We turned up on Sunday just after opening and were the only people there. Love that the menu was in Italian so we had to work out what was what. Ordered the fried mix starter which was delicious and the batter was really light. Ordered ziti Genovese and the spaghetti with anchovies, lemon and pecorino. Everyone was very happy with what they had. The place was full of locals by the time our pasta dishes came, so either book or get there early.

Amazing atmosfere and food. Most of the dishes are based on dried cod revisited within the most iconic Neapolitan dishes. Perfect for couples or small groups. The selection of wines is also impressive
